In Loving Memory of Angel Rey Hernandez It is with profound sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the untimely passing of Angel Hernandez, a beloved son, brother, friend, and cherished member of his community. He departed this world far too soon at the tender age of 16, leaving behind a void that can never be filled. Born on August 28, 2007, Angel brought joy and laughter to the lives of those fortunate enough to know him. His bright smile and infectious spirit were a source of inspiration to all who had the privilege of being a part of his life. Angel displayed a passion for life and athletics. He played a variety of sports over his lifetime, but he excelled in martial arts, cross country, and track. Angel began martial arts in 2014 and had progressed to a red belt, the next to last belt before becoming a black belt. He was an AOK state title holder in kata and sparring. Angel was also a member of the 2023 AOK Competition Team, which competes across the nation for the organization he was a part of for almost 10 years. Angel also shined in running, making the Varsity Cross Country team at Chisholm Trail High School as a sophomore after serving as an alternate his freshman year. He was always determined to beat his PR and strive for the next level. In addition to his many talents, Angel was a compassionate friend who always extended a hand of support to those in need. He had a deep empathy for others and would go to great lengths to help anyone who needed assistance. His kind-hearted nature made him an exceptional teammate, friend, and brother. Angel is survived by his loving parents, Antonio and Elsie Hernandez, and his younger brother, Mark Hernandez. He was a cherished grandson, nephew, and cousin to a host of family members who will forever hold him close to their hearts. Though we are left with heavy hearts, we must also remember the bright light that Angel brought into our lives. His memory will serve as a source of inspiration, reminding us to live each day to the fullest, to cherish our loved ones, and to never take life for granted. Visitation will be held on October 19th from 6-9 p.m. and funeral services will be October 20th at 11 a.m. at the Heritage Funeral Home Davis-Morrow Chapel in Brownwood, TX, where friends and family will gather to celebrate Angel's life and bid a heartfelt farewell. Rest in peace Angel. You will be dearly missed, never forgotten, and loved always.
