Augustina Rodriguez

Our beloved Augustina Perez Rodriguez passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Thursday, October 31, 2024. She was born to Eugenio and Josephina Maria Perez on April 14. 1944 in Burnet, Texas. On October 22, 1970 Augustina married Franscisco Rodriguez in Camp Wood, Texas. She and Frank worked as funeral attendants in Houston and San Saba for many years before they both retired. San Saba is where they made their home upon retirement. Auggie, as her family called her, had a servant's heart and would help anyone she could if they needed help. She was an active member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and a member of the Ladies of Saint Mary's. She would volunteer her time at the church in various capacities. She would bake cakes and brownies for the fall festival and would help serve at funeral meals. She was very devoted to her Catholic faith and would recite the rosary every day. At 3:00 PM on any given day, you would find Auggie reciting the Divine Chaplet. Auggie was also involved in helping to deliver meals for the Meals on Wheels Program in San Saba. Her hobbies included crocheting, fishing, and baking for family gatherings and reunions. Auggie is survived by her sisters Cruz Uvalle, Josie and Luis Benavides, Maggie and Juan Aguilar, Mercedes and Rafael Uvalle, Maria and Leonel Espinosa, Angie and David Sanchez, Vivian and Juan Uvalle, and Pauline Perez. She is also survived by brothers Miguel Perez and Antonio Perez and many nieces and nephews that she loved as her own. Augustina is preceded in death by her husband Frank Rodriguez, her parents, her brothers Jose A. Perez, Hildo Perez, Stanley Perez, and Alejandro Perez. Also preceding her in death are her sisters Florentina Martinez and Eugenia Perez. Services for our beloved Auggie will be held on Wednesday, November 6th at 2:00 PM at St. Mary's Catholic Church in San Saba, Texas. Visitation and rosary will be held at Heritage Funeral Home in San Saba on Tuesday, November 5th beginning at 5:00 PM. Pall bearers are: Matilde Werlinger, Veronica Drahosh, Isabel Rodriguez, Thelma Rodriguez, Samantha Peck, Estella Soto, and Adelaida Martinez. Honorary pall bearers: Miguel Perez and Antonio Perez. The family requests that donations be made in Augustina's honor to the St. Mary's Catholic Church or the Meals on Wheels Program of San Saba. Heritage Funeral Home of San Saba is entrusted with the care and arrangements for Ms. Rodriguez.
