Henrietta McInerney

Marie McInerney, 76, passed away peacefully and comfortably at her home in Lampasas, Texas, on August 2, 2026, surrounded by the family and friends she cherished so deeply. Born on March 5, 1950, in Bamberg, Germany, to William and Hildegard Casey, Marie's early years were spent on the move with her military family. They relocated to Sherman, Texas, and later to the Fort Hood area, where Marie graduated from Killeen High School. Marie married Robert McInerney and moved to The Bronx, New York, where she enjoyed the energy of city life, working in Manhattan and freelance modeling. She enjoyed that chapter of life being immersed in the local live music scene, cheering Robert on as he chased his dream. The couple welcomed their daughter Heather Marie before returning to Central Texas, where their daughter Deborah Lorraine was born. As a mother, Marie was fiercely protective and present. She worked part-time in daycares and cleaning homes, ensuring her daughters could always be right by her side. Marie built a life centered entirely upon devotion to her family and her deep faith in God, and in his Son, Jesus Christ. Marie used her time generously, volunteering countless hours sharing her spiritual convictions and hope for a better future under God's Kingdom. She found true happiness in the simple things, like sewing clothes for her family and making home-cooked meals. She was a lifelong music lover who enjoyed classic rock and R&B, as well as working on puzzles and watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune. Her favorite moments were spent laughing over a game of cards, bingo, or board games with the family she loved. Marie will be forever adored for her sweet disposition and empathetic spirit. With a heart of gold filled with kindness and warmth, she made everyone who crossed her path feel instantly welcome. She found her greatest purpose in encouraging family closeness and showering unconditional love on her children and grandchildren, who look forward to emulating her beautiful example of unselfish love. Marie is survived by her daughters, Heather Jones and her husband Gary of Copperas Cove, and Deborah Bryant and her husband Wesley of Brownwood; her brother, Kenneth Casey of Copperas Cove; her sister-in-law, Melanie Milian of Temple; and her grandchildren, Paige Tovar of Wisconsin, Rafael Tovar Jr. and his wife Raven of Copperas Cove, Bedford Hale Jr. of Killeen, and Lauren Thomas and her husband Garrett of Fort Hood. To honor Marie's life and memory, a celebration of life will be held in Brownwood, Texas. Loved ones will gather to share sweet memories and celebrate the deep impact of her love and kindness. Marie was preceded in death by her parents, William and Hildegard Casey; her brother, John Henry Casey; her sister, Anna Mae Casey; and her grandson, Ethan Paul Hale. The family extends their deepest gratitude to Rafael Tovar Sr., Buffy White, and Chong Gibson-beloved friends who are cherished as family. Special thanks are also given to Angelica and Kaydi from New Century Hospice for their compassionate care. Your exceptional kindness, devotion, and support during this difficult time will always be remembered. Marie shared a beautiful love with all who knew her. Her memory remains a treasure we will forever hold close, and she will be deeply missed as we patiently await the day we meet again.
