Loxie Huffstuttler

Loxie Lee Huffstuttler, 72, of Burnet, was taken home to be with our Lord and Savior on December 31, 2023. She was born in Burnet, Texas, to Bob and Wilma Owens on January 5, 1951. God created Loxie to be a spitfire and a tough cookie from that day on. She was born with spina bifida and a severe club foot - both conditions requiring multiple surgeries out of the gate. The doctors told Bob and Wilma that Loxie may never walk or have children - yet here we are, killin' it - and you should have seen her run when there was a sale at the mall! Loxie met the love of her life, Bobby Huffstuttler, at the local Burnet Tasty Treat in the summer of '69 (yep - go ahead - sing the song!) after graduating from Burnet High School that same year. They were married on a beautiful, sunny day that next spring. They sealed the deal on Friday, May 15, 1970 in a lovely service surrounded by their family and friends at the First Baptist Church of Burnet. You have never met a more loyal couple in your life, sticking together through thick and thin - and we are here to tell you there was LOTS of thick. We could not be prouder of our parents for always standing by each other's side. Loxie raised and wrangled her children while simultaneously running the household and their business, Bobby's Appliance and Air Conditioning, for many years. When her children flew the nest, Loxie needed to share her larger-than-life desire to nurture, love and care somewhere else. She channeled that desire by taking care of adults with special needs for many years. She adored every moment of that! She took her sweet guys Christmas shopping, out to eat, to the movies and anywhere else she could get them in - considering them a part of her family up until she retired and even after. Loxie enjoyed living in Burnet, the town where she grew up. She cherished being able to raise her children there and made many lifelong friends. She loved her family and friends deeply - and loved her dogs Izzy and Jasmine at least that much or more (thank goodness, because they were hard to love for most anyone else). Between her kids, grandkids, great grandkids, her dogs, Amazon, chocolate, and George Strait, our mom's heart was full as a tick. She did NOT like anyone on the news these days, politicians, or anyone who said anything slightly negative about her family, her dogs, chocolate or George Strait. She was happiest when her family was all together. She was so proud of both of her children's accomplishments and those of her grandchildren and great grandchildren as well. If you ever sat with her for even just a few minutes, she would tell you so - whether you wanted to hear it or not - and we hope you liked to look at her pictures, too. She sure did love that - just like her momma did. Loxie is preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Huffstuttler, her sister, Sylvia Switzer, and her parents Bob and Wilma Owens. Loxie is survived by her son Bobby Huffstuttler, Jr. and wife Vicky of Bertram, her daughter Lorilee Sebesta and partner Chris of Troy, Illinois, her sister Susie Pell and husband Bill of Burnet, her grandchildren Dalton Huffstuttler and wife Lacy of Bertram, James Huffstuttler and wife Alora of Bertram, Emma Sebesta, Jake Sebesta, Rocky Hoffstot and Lyla Hoffstot, all of Troy, Illinois, her great grandchildren Hadley, Haven, and Ivie, all of Bertram, and many close friends. Loxie's Celebration of Life is To Be Announced. The celebration will be held at a later date when the sun shines warmer and the bluebonnets bloom at Traditions Wedding and Event Venue in Burnet, Texas. We will enjoy Uncle Bill's world-renowned brisket, Aunt Susie's famous sweet tea, and I'm sure one of the rest of us will fall short with making mom's award-winning mac-n-cheese - and she'd tell you that if she was there, bless our hearts - but we'll give it heck anyway.
