Sandra Jackson Jennings

Funeral services for Sandra Beth Jennings, 76, of Abilene, Texas will be held Monday, March 4, 2019 at the Heritage Funeral Home Chapel in Menard, TX. Visitation will be at 1:00 and funeral services will be conducted at 2:00. Burial will follow in the Fort McKavett cemetery in Fort McKavett, TX. Presiding over the service will be special friend, Terry "Hoss" Savoie. Pallbearers: Stephen James Warren, Russell Warren, Gary Don Whitley, Cary Slaughter, Donny Bradford & Wallace Jackson. Sandra was born April 4, 1942 in Brady, TX to Willard Woodrow Jackson and Frankie Lura (Wallace) Jackson. She passed away peacefully at her home in Abilene and entered her eternal rest on February 27, 2019. Sandra, or "Mubby" and "Sister" as she was affectionately known, was raised in Menard County and graduated from Menard High School. She was a loving care giver and served her communities as a secretarial manager and worked in retail for many years. She was also a talented artist, crafter, pianist and homemaker. She knew her way around the kitchen and lovingly prepared home cooked meals for family and friends. Sandra truly loved God's ranch land and all His creations. She had a special place in her heart for animals, especially those that were injured or needed rescuing. Her pets were like family, and she cherished their company. Above all else, Sandra was a faithful and humble servant of the Lord, and she grew up worshiping in the Church of Christ. She is preceded in death by her parents; Willard Woodrow Jackson & Frankie Lura (Wallace) Jackson; brothers Wallace Ray Jackson and Jerry Dean "Frog" Jackson; husbands Willie Ray (Buddy) Brandon and Billy Ray Armstrong; and niece Julie Richardson. Those left to cherish her memory are daughter Carol Ann (Brandon) Warren of Abilene and grandson Stephen James Warren; former husband Arthur Vollie Jennings; one sister, Linda Slaughter and husband Cary; nieces Debra Mayfield, Pam Hunter, Kristi Wolf and Bonnie Alford; nephews Wallace Jackson, Jason Hearn, and Jerry Jackson, Jr., and a host of friends. The family suggests memorials to the church of your choice, favorite charity or local Meals on Wheels organizations.
